What cars have you raced or rallied in during your Motorsport career? Started in 1966 – driving boyfriend’s (Barry) mini cooper on tuning days at Caversham Race Circuit.  Motorkhanas in Mini Cooper – Toyota Corolla – Honda Civics – Ford Laser – Autocross in Honda Civics.  Inter-club rallies in Honda Civics.

What role(s) and event(s) have you been an official on during your Motorsport career? Began in 1965 by lap counting and timing at Caversham Racing Circuit.  Then from 1973 began involvement in LCC Club Events and Rallying.  Starting with navigating in sweeper vehicle then onto – event administration – event command – road closures & control official – stewarding – event assessments & officials training.  Events:  In the 60’s – a Pathfinder Trial (real navigation event got lost- Austin 1800 Barry beached it on some logs). Since then just about every event on the local rally calendar including 42 Safaris and 40 Darling 200’s.   21 years of Rally Australia in various roles including the command of the Gloucester Park Super Special Stage.  In the 70’s some standalone inter-club events like the Twilight Trial. Lots of LCC club events over the past 44 years.

Ever won a motorsport event or championship? Think I got LCC Ladies Championship one year, lots of 2nd’s & 3rds.

What is your current race car or daily driver? Sadly no race or rally cars at the moment.   But would love to have one, and would Khanacross etc in a flash if I did.   Currently have a Hyundai Sonata and a Ford Ranger – love the Ranger.  Also in the driveway is Barry’s infamous Blue Sweeper Beast.

How long have you been a member of the LCC?  Not exactly sure, about 15 years.  I remember attending some LCC meetings and following some rallies and other events back around 1975 or 1976.

What cars have you raced or rallied in during your Motorsport career? As a driver I have competed in a several different KE20 Corollas.  My last drive was at an MG club sprint at Kwinana in a borrowed MGB.  As a rally navigator I have competed in many vehicles including; Mark 1 Cortina, several Datsun 1600’s, 1200 Coupe, 240K and 180B, Mazda RX2’s and RX3’s, even a Dazda or 2, Celica, Corolla, V8 Commodores, Hilman Hunter, MGB, a couple of Gallants and Subaru RX Turbo.

What role(s) and event(s) have you been an official on during your Motorsport career? I have been Director/Clerk of Course for a few rallies, mainly in the 1980’s for the Datsun Motoring/Nissan Car Club.  I have assisted on many other rallies as a member of the Nissan/Ascot/Light Car Clubs.  I have done controls, road closures, car 0, FIV and stage commander roles.  Events include many Rally Australia’s, Forest Rallies and of course most of the LCC rallies for the past 15 years.  I was a Flag Marshall at Wanneroo race circuit for 7 years and at times the stop/go Lollipop Marshall at the end of Pit Lane for the National Touring Car Race.

Ever won a Motorsport event or championship? My best results include winning 3 Interclub rallies as a navigator.  My best finish in a State Championship event was 2nd outright in a Forest Rally (again as a navigator).  One of my best memories was riding with Ross Dunkerton in car 0 when I was quite young and he was the best driver in the country!  I believe I won a State Motorkhana Class championship one year.

What is your current race car or daily driver?  Sadly, I currently don’t have a competition car.  My daily drive is either an old Pajero or a Suzuki 750 motorbike.

How long have you been a member of the LCC? If memory is correct I believe that the first year of competition and joining the LCC was 1985.

What cars have you raced or rallied in during your Motorsport career? My first Rally Car was the family Toyota Tercel Wagon in the Sunday Times Safari Rally. I think I was the last car in the field Number 56. I finished with a bent cross member and not allowed to Rally the car again.

I then moved on to a Mazda RX3, a beautiful one owner car with the original plastic covers on the doors and rear seats. I destroyed this and another two over the next few years.

Coming back from a break in the 90s and for the next 20 years I moved on to MK11 Escorts and still have one that survived that I use for Tarmac events. The last few years a Nissan 180sx/Sileighty has been used and abused with little success. This year I will be returning in a more familiar car which I think will be a bit more fun.

What role(s) and event(s) have you been an official on during your Motorsport career? During my motor sport days I have assisted in numerous events and rallies predominately road closures and timing. A highlight was the Repco around Australia event I think in 1996 when I lived in Kalgoorlie and they used some of the roads in the region. I also enjoyed my involvement in Rally Australia when it was in Perth. When not competing my wife (Elspeth) and I enjoy going in to the Bush and helping out on events when we can.

Ever won a Motorsport event or championship? My successes in motor sport have been a bit sporadic over the 30 years many, crashes and some equipment failures. I did however win the State Novice Award in 1987 and then  manage to have a consistent couple of years in 2009 winning  the State 2wd Title and Clubman Title in 2010. It has been all downhill since then.

What is your current race car or daily driver? The current rally car is being built and will be out in public soon.  Daily drive is the Crewman Cross 8 which also serves as a good tow and Recce vehicle however has a huge thirst and keeps backing into things. I will occasionally drive my wife’s Golf but only when no one is looking.

How long have you been a member of the LCC?  Not too sure when I first joined the LCC but about 25 years – I haven’t been very active for the last few years due to personal reasons but was a committee member for several years including Club President for 5 consecutive years from 2001. When I was younger I was a member of the Mini Car Club and WA Car Club.

What cars have you raced or rallied in during your Motorsport career? In club events a Datsun 1600 and  Stanza – as a navigator/co-driver Datsun 1600, Ford Escort, Ford Cortina, Mitsubishi Lancer, Toyota Celica, Subaru Legacy and Subaru WRX

What role(s) and event(s) have you been an official on during your Motorsport career? Pretty much everything to do with Rallying at different times including course cars, time controls, road closures, Event Secretary (Safari), Clerk of Course (Darling 200) and numerous roles at Club, Interclub and State Championship level.

Ever won a Motorsport event or championship? Not won outright but have numerous top 3 finishes (witnessed by a removal box full of trophies) and won the Amateur Series Navigator trophy in 1982

What is your current race car or daily driver? A bright yellow Datsun Stanza that was meant for club events but which like a lot of other cars has been gathering dust – my daily drive is a silver 2010 Subaru Liberty GT – not the STI version unfortunately
