Message from the new president for 2018

Christmas Message from the New Pres

Greetings to our current and future members.

You may be aware that our Annual General Meeting was held at the LCC Club rooms on Wednesday 13th December 2017. Our annual election was held for Committee members, President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
It was encouraging to see the level of interest and commitment by those that attended and also those whom couldn’t be there but sent their apologies. It was also great to talk with a number of members whom perhaps had never attended our AGM and to get some feedback on their views of the club and their perception of where rallying is at.

I would like to thank the previous LCC Committee and in particular Neil Trethowen and Dannielle Turton (former President and Secretary) for their work on the committee and at Club events during the year. It is never  easy at the helm.

The end of this year is coming to a close however plans are already underway for the Committee to meet and for a General Planning Meeting for the Club on 24th January 2018. It is imperative that as many past, current and future members engage in this process in order that the Club moves quickly to secure dates and venues to promote and from which to run our events.

At the completion of our AGM, I made some brief comments as to where I would hope the direction of the Club would take. Of particular focus is ensuring our Club nurtures the development of junior members in our sport and actively engaged members in discussion and decision making. I am also looking forward to speaking directly to as many members as possible including those whom have been on the fringe of club life. Every  opinion matters.

I am grateful for the confidence that the Club has shown in electing me to this position and with Vice President Wendy Walker and Committee members I undertake this commitment with optimism for what can be developed and achieved in the future.

I do wish you and your families a safe and peaceful Christmas.

Kind Regards
Geoff Leatt-Hayter
President LCC
