Here’s a quick update on the 2014 Carringtons Traffic Services Safari rally. Scheduled for Saturday the 11th of October, the rally will form round 6 of the WARC & Clubman Series.
Elements of the event have remained the same as previous years, with Rally HQ based out of the Chidlow Tavern and the All Star Garage service park, located on the village green.
Approval applications are currently being submitted for the competitive sections of the rally which will remain in the forests of the Sawyers Valley/Chidlow area. The route has been heavily revised from previous years, now with three special stages; Onslow Contracting, Performance Race Gear and Douglas Automotive which will be run twice to give a total competitive distance of around 130km.
State entrants will again have a chance to pace note before the rally starts, whilst Clubman and Challenge entrants will use the road book. To assist both competitors and officials, we are intending to start and finish the rally earlier in the day.
The Carringtons Traffic Services Safari rally will also have two separate spectator point locations where cars will be able to be seen twice during the event.
