2017 Darling 200 Rally

The last rally for the 2017 season is due to run on the 11th of November.

Set on gravel roads around Jarrahdale, the rally is round seven of the 2wd State Championship and Clubman Rally Series. The Darling is open to 2wd cars only. It’s a chance for modern machines such as Ford Fiestas and Nissan Pulsars to cross swords with their classic counterparts in the form of Escorts and Datsun 1600’s.

This year the Darling will comprise of two stages which will be run three times. The competitive distance is a shade over 82km.

HQ and the service area will be based out of the Jarrahdale Oval on Nettleton Road.

At the LCC’s Safari rally in October, history was made when a 2wd car won the outright state championship. Tom Wilde/Maddie Kirkhouse beat all the 4WD contenders in their Honda Civic. Their win also guaranteed first place in the 2WD championship as well.

The Clubman Series though is going right down to the wire. There’s two teams who have a chance at the title and both are equally matched. Will it be Andrew Percival/Jim Pearce (Honda Civic) or Brock Nicoli/Dan Adams (Hyundai Lantra). There’s a real chance that Civics could win both the state championship and the Clubman Cup.
